17/11/2022, Kuala Lumpur - Amid a strong recovery after the Covid situation, with outlets in Kuala Lumpur and now Melaka located at Avenue K, Nu Sentral and The Shore Melaka, plus the recently wrapped up Lost In Karak event, Breakout is going all out by adding yet another new branch to it’s list with the launch of a new game concept in The Curve Shopping Mall at the end of 2022! This new outlet at The Curve will feature an upcoming game experience that is never before seen called SPY Game where players can role play as a spy and interact with NPCs!
Lost In Karak, a previous event where players interact with NPCs in the storyline, was crafted by Hauntu, the sister brand of Breakout. The success of Lost in Karak led to Breakout realizing the demand for interactivity with NPCs in games but also knowing that there are those who are not fans of horror or prefer more action games. Innovation being the key towards success is why Breakout is breaking through from the escape game concept and has decided to do something new for the non puzzle lovers. Distinguishing this brand new concept from the escape game rooms is said focus on NPCs that are part of the game to provide a more immersive experience. Breakout hopes to spread its love of its new spy game concept to an even wider share of the audience, especially to cater to more physical or action game lovers.
What is SPY Game then? SPY Game is a brand new concept that is the first in Asia and is definitely never before seen in Malaysia! Fans who don’t enjoy doing puzzles can rejoice as they can now experience Breakout with a game that offers minimal puzzles!
In SPY Game, players have to navigate through a room filled with patrolling Non - Playable Characters (NPCs) and complete the mission required either via stealth or through infiltration by disguises. The SPY Game is made in order for customers to feel as if they are part of a Mission Impossible-esque game, giving them a surreal and one of a kind experience equivalent to being immersed in a movie.
”Breakout is for the puzzle lovers and Hauntu is for the horror fans, but we don’t have games for people who aren’t fans of both so we decided to design something new and unique for them, ” said Johnny Ong, Head of Experience Design. This combined with the feedback from the Lost In Karak event led to the birth of this new Spy Game.
Head Of Business Development, Low Kelly, says, “There was an Escape Game outlet from another brand that was originally operating near The Curve but it has since closed down. Breakout, on the other hand, is rapidly expanding with 3 outlets in KL already, thus, we think this is the best time for us to bring back fun to the people of Petaling Jaya. We decided to launch a new game concept here, one that is never before seen that is also family friendly, hence we decided with the Curve as they meet our criterias.” SPY Game is offered in two outlets, with The Curve, Mutiara Damansara and also launching soon in Melaka at The Shore, with both outlets having a different storyline and aesthetic.
With the opening of the economy, Superdough has seen better revenue and has been recovering very strongly in the past months since the transition to the Endemic state. With a very encouraging look at the numbers over the months and the opening of the new outlet in Melaka and now at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, Superdough is also seeing positive growth in numbers too.
